This is what I do since having a yard . Have been growing vegetables . Have fruit trees.

Bury kitchen waste in veggie garden . All this keeps soil alive and keep earthworms happy.

Since we have home owners association, yard does get sprayed and it’s ok. I do what I can do. Be practical.

You can grow whatever you like and grows in your climate . Even growing flowers make soil soft is what I noticed .

This is only if you are interested in doing something and don’t start bugging others.
