Red bean curry soup with roti

  • Red bean curry made more like soup with whole wheat roti.
  • Whole wheat has enzyme which helps digest protein and so bean and roti is a good combination.
  • Try to use good quality whole wheat flour. In USA, king arthur’s whole wheat flour is really good.
  • This curry is very easy to make. Small red beans are from indian store. Called chori too.
  • No need to soak. Pressure cook beans with few chunk of onion and tomatoes.
  • Mix everything well. Add ginger-garlic paste, turmeric , red chilli, cumin-coriandor powder and salt.
  • Heat little oil and just a little bit of mustard seeds. Once they crack, add above red bean mixture.
  • Boil for sometime and garnish with cilantro.
  • This is my to go curry when i want something spicy and quick.
